Azure Skies - These enchanting amethyst and blue-violet Cattleya orchids are actually a hybrid called “Azure Skies”. They are a category called 'Coerulea' (So-roo-lee-ah) orchids which have amazing blue, gray and, even lavender hues. It was the gracefulness of the petals and sepals, along with the colors that inspired me to paint them, and the white outline on the folds of the lips are so extraordinary. The original is an 11x14 oil painting on canvas.
